4 Photo Editing Apps You Need For Instagram

Looking for the best photo editing apps for your phone? I’m sure I’m not the only one who spends more time on their phone than the computer right?! Even though I prefer to edit on my computer, as I can see the image better, I don’t always have the time to sit down to edit. More often than not I’m editing pictures quickly on the go so I can get fresh content up on my Instagram.

In this post, I am going to share with you my favorite photo editing apps that I have found during the last 5 years and that I use literally all the time.

I got this app back in 2015 and it has been my good to go since then. I literally edit everything there, especially when it comes to close ups or clothes photos. With this app you can use all kinds of tools, You can go from removing little face pimples up to deleting a whole tree from a photo. They have tons of tools, you can change the color of objects by using the brush, whitening teeth, blemish wrinkles, etc.

Here is an example of how I have more volume to the bottom of my dress to give it a better look, so it went from boring to a perfect cut using the reshape tool.

Cost: $3.99 USD (one time only payment)

Retouch is one of those photo editing apps that is a real game-changer! I have removed and replaced a whole background by using their removing tools. Be sure to go on settings and choose the option of higher quality, so when you edit your photos for Instagram it doesn’t lower the quality of the original.

It has 4 tools but my 2 favorites are Object removal and Clone stamp. As you can see in the following photo, I removed all the people on the back and black spots on the floor by using these 2 tools. I am not going to lie, it requires a lot of patience and dedication to get a really good result, so be sure you take your time to be switching from one tool to another and being zooming in and out to get better results.

I found this app 2 years ago and it rescued so many old photos that I thought I would be able to use because of the gray skies or simply because they didn’t look good enough. It’s one of my favorite photo editing apps because it allows you to change the sky completely with just one click. You can choose from all kinds of options and once you choose the perfect match for your photo, be sure to double click to edit also the horizon, and the different options it gives you for that same sky style.

This app also has that blur option that most of the new phones have known as  portrait mode. This could help you if you took a regular photo but you would like to give it that deep look and make the main person or object stand out even more. It also allows you to choose how much of a blur you would like to have and it gives you the brush tool to select those little spots or erase the spaces that were changed automatically but you wouldn’t like to blur.

Here is an example of one of my photos where I changed the whole sky. I hope you like the before and after.

Last but not least, the famous Lightroom photo editing app. They are very known by content creators, bloggers, photographers, and designers. This is an app that allows you to give your photo all those professional changes that it needs.

What I like the most about this app is the option to modify color by color on your photo. This helps me to keep the colors on my Instagram feed as similar as possible from one to the other. I use lightroom on each of my photos since I already create my own presets so I don’t have to start from scratch each time I want to edit a new photo.

This photo editing app is free with a limited option of tools, if you would like the have the full version you would have to pay a monthly fee.

Here is an example of how I modified the colors of the sky and water, I gave it more light and modified the black tones so it could match better my Instagram feed.
